    As a Shipping and Receiving Coordinator at Ryerson, you will be responsible for assisting warehouse management with daily warehouse business activities and planning. This includes optimizing storage of purchased materials, efficient transportation and supply of components to production lines, ensuring accurate shipment of finished goods to customers, efficient storage of stock, future warehouse capacity planning requirements, and tracking and improving the delivery performance to customers.

    Roles and Responsibilities

    • Administers and operates the organization"s warehouse, including processing packaging and storage of supplies, and materials/equipment
    • Accounts for all materials and supplies in the store"s facilities and audits goods received at the warehouse
    • Oversees receipt, storage, and shipment of materials and related reporting in accordance with established procedures
    • Prepares and coordinates schedules for shipping and receiving materials to control the flow of goods and regulate warehouse space
    • Ensures the effectiveness of operating procedures, space utilization, and maintenance and protection of facilities and equipment
    • All other duties as assigned or duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice

    Requirements

    • Successfully pass a skills-based assessment - evaluates your reading, math, inspections & measurement, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
    • Must be comfortable working with computer systems (Microsoft Office, SAP Annex Freight)
    • Excellent communication skills required (will interact with logistics providers daily)
    • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team

    Salary: This position is a Union position. Per Union contract this position pays $29.20. New employees hired shall receive eighty-five percent (85%) of the full rate for the first three months of employment, ninety percent (90%) of the rate for the next three months, and ninety-five (95%) of the rate for the next six months.
