**Overview** **Shipping and Receiving Clerk (A&E) Handler** (SWFPAC): Bowhead seeks a Shipping and Receiving Clerk (A&E) Handler at the Strategic Weapons Facility Pacific (SWFPAC) and Marine Corps Security Force Battalion (MCSFBn) logistics departmentat Naval Base Kitsap, Bangor, WA. Please note, this position is contingent upon contract award. No third party applications or submissions will be considered. **Responsibilities** Essential functions will include: + Manages specialized logistics, receiving, storing, inspecting, and shipping hazardous materials. + Properly store and optimize layout configurations inside secure Earth-Covered Magazines (ECMs) for training and security-related A&E. + Facilitate asset reporting by feeding transactional data directly into the Ordnance Information System (OIS) database. + Transport A&E to support military security personnel during live-fire training and qualifications on and off-base. + Ensures strict compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) safety protocols, accurately documenting inventory while coordinating with military and civilian personnel for secure transport + Safely handle, inspect, and transport hazardous materials, ammunition, and explosives, ensuring compliance with explosive safety regulations. + Process incoming and outgoing shipments, verifying, loading, and unloading materials for storage or transport. + Maintain accurate inventory records, complete shipping documents, verify serial numbers, and report discrepancies such as overages, shortages, or damages (OS&D). + Inspect incoming and outgoing commercial or military transport vehicles for proper blocking, bracing, and compatibility compliance. + Inspect items upon receipt to ensure they are free of defects and match purchase documents. + Coordinate with carriers and base logistics to schedule pickups and deliveries. + Operate heavy machinery (forklifts, pallet jacks) and maintain a secure, clean warehouse environment complying with safety regulations. + Accomplish cyclic ammunition inventories to verify the physical quantities, lot numbers, serial numbers, and exact locations of stocked assets. + Other duties as assigned. **Qualifications** + Minimum high school diploma or equivalent (GED). + Prior experience as a Marine Corps Ammunition Technician (MOS 2311) or Logistics Specialist (MOS 3043), or a Navy Aviation Ordnance man (AO) or Logistics Specialist (LS) with demonstrated ability to follow complex safety procedures. + Minimum one to two (1-2) years of experience handling industrial hazardous materials, chemical storage, or commercial explosives. + Enrollment in the Personnel Reliability Program (PRP), which requires high standards of mental and physical stability, ethical conduct, and emotional maturity. + Familiarity with military supply systems, inventory control software, and material handling equipment. + Associate or bachelor's degree preferred in logistics, supply chain management, or safety engineering. + Completion of military supply or ammunition handler courses (e.g., Marine Corps MOS 3112/2311 or Navy LS/AO ratings). + Formal instruction in Department of Defense (DoD) or Department of Transportation (DOT) HAZMAT regulations. Advanced Certification Requirements: + Advanced Navy/DoD certification in AMMO-62 (Technical Transportation of Hazardous Materials), AMMO-76, or equivalent Center for Ordnance Training programs. + Demonstrated mastery of NAVSEA OP 5 standards with the ability to build localized Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). + Active or clear eligibility for a state Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Hazardous Materials (X) Endorsement. + Master Material Handling Equipment (MHE) operator status specializing in explosive-rated (EE and EX) assets. + Capability to pass annual explosives-handler medical surveillance exams, including strict vision, color-differentiation, audiogram, and heavy weight-bearing tests. + Must pass an initial and annual physical exam, including vision, hearing, and lifting tests, to ensure the capacity to handle heavy munitions safely. + Must pass initial and random ongoing urinalysis screenings under the federal drug-free workplace program. + Have written and oral communications abilities commensurate with this management role. + Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint. + Ability to understand, speak, read, and write the English language. + Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees, Government Representative, and outside contacts. + Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team. Target salary is commensurate with experience Physical Demands: + Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds + Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time + Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically Environment + Shipping and Receiving Clerk (A&E) Handler is required to be on-site. + Work areas consist of office and non-office settings such supply, and transportation facilities. + Requires wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) which includes safety glasses, protective-toe footwear, gloves, and hearing protection as required.
