Shift Supervisor/ Sales Associate FT

The primary responsibility of the Shift Supervisor is to act as support for the Store Manager in overseeing the daily retailoperations and focusing on the highest standards of customer service.

Competency in Cashier and Sales Associate positions is required prior to being eligible for the Shift Supervisor Role.  This role is in addition to the position of Sales Associate.

Other responsibilities include but are notlimited to the following:

Providing “legendary” customer service throughout the store.    

Setting an example for all store staff while overseeing the sales floor personnel.

Opening and closing the store, including assisting with daily bookkeeping.

Be an integral part of the management team, and supporter of the manager(s).

Possess an understanding of Ace Hardware ideology and goals.

Knowledge of overall store policies and procedures.

Knowledge of management responsibilities and ability to fill in for managers if necessary.

An ability to oversee front-end register operations and solve problems that may arise.

Actively reinforce Ace Rewards at POS and with the sales staff.

Ability to approve checks, returns, etc.

Responsibility for safety and security within the store.

Ability to complete appropriate paperwork.

Capable of aiding in the training of store personnel.

Ability to motivate and lead in-store staff and supervise to ensure optimum performance.

Seta p ositive example by following company policies, procedures, and ideals.

Be able to troubleshoot basic computer problems and work with support personnel to

resolve issues.

Have a working knowledge of all store services and equipment.  This includes but is not limited to forklift

certification, fleet safety training and propane dispensing.

Objectively report staff issues to store manager(s).

Maintain confidentiality.

Be working towards a greater knowledge the business and of managerial responsibilities.

Other tasks and responsibilities as may from time to time be delegated by the manager(s).

Physically able to oversee the operations of the store

Able to safely lift and handle a minimum of 40 lbs.

Must work safely and ask for assistance when necessary.
