Cleveland-Cliffs Tubular Components LLC has an immediate opportunity for a Shift Manager of Production at Walbridge, OH location. The Shift Manager, Production is responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing the activities of production personnel in order to ensure that all procedures and work instructions are followed, while working safely and efficiently to obtain the operating goals of Cliffs.
Summary of Responsibilities:
+ Provide leadership to ensure an environment that is conducive to employee involvement in an effort to develop high performance teams.
+ Ensure all facets of the Safety program are being followed by all employees.
+ Provide training to all employees on current and/or new procedures.
+ Verify decisions by direct reports regarding non-conforming product and determine cause and effects.
+ Identify and change work techniques and delegate tasks to ensure the highest level of safety, quality, and productivity.
+ Support 2nd shift into 1st shift transition and communications.
+ Ensure direct reports are following work instructions and safety guidelines to produce a superior product that meets customer expectations.
+ Develop plans to enhance employee skill sets and maximize their abilities.
+ Maintain accurate documentation, administer discipline, and develop corrective actions for quality, safety, and performance issues.
+ Coordinate and support Safety and 5S activities including corrective actions.
+ Plan and monitor staffing needs including vacation scheduling and approval.
+ Able to maintain cost controls and budgets.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
+ Associate degree or comparable experience required.
+ Strong leadership skills with ability to earn respect, promote teamwork, and lead by example.
+ Proficient with Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Excel.
+ Excellent attendance record.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree preferred.
+ Three to five years leadership preferred.
+ Prior tube mill or automotive manufacturing experienced preferred.
