Location Cleveland OHCleveland-Cliffs has immediate opportunities for the Shift Manager Operations positionat our Cleveland OH plant. This front-line supervisory role is responsible for coordinating safety and quality activities and overseeing production operations to ensure compliance with safety environmental quality and productivity standards.The Shift Manager serves as a key link between hourly personnel maintenance and leadership to ensure safe efficient and reliable operations in a 247 manufacturing environment.Summary of ResponsibilitiesEnsure full compliance with all safety environmental and quality standards conduct regular safety quality and environmental audits in a timely mannerUphold and enforce safety rules environmental requirements and job procedures while maintaining appropriate discipline and accountability across the crewMonitor operating conditions and promptly intervene with corrective actions as needed coordinating across multiple disciplinesSchedule supervise and lead hourly operating and maintenance personnel working directly with employees on the shop floor and from the Shift Managers officeEnsure direct reports receive proper training job utilization and development while fostering a fair and respectful work environment focused on excellence in safety and productionCollaborate with maintenance teams planners and schedulers to develop and prioritize work lists for corrective and preventative maintenance activitiesMake timely operational decisions in high‑stress situations within established corporate policies escalating issues as appropriateConduct studies and analyses to identify operational issues develop recommendations and communicate process improvements that enhance reliability quality and productivitySupervise assigned turn crews within the operating departmentCommunicate effectively with upstream and downstream stakeholders including employees and contractors to coordinate work deliveries and servicesOther duties as assignedMinimum QualificationsMinimum of 2 years of experience in heavy industry or military leadership with direct responsibility for leading teams enforcing accountability and communicating operational expectations effectively.Ability and willingness to work rotating shifts including weekends and holidays within a 247 operating environment extended hours as neededAbility to work in a hot dusty industrial environment and perform physical requirements including climbing stairs and ladders walking on uneven surfaces and working outdoors in all weather conditions.Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word Excel PowerPoint and exposure to databasesApplicants for this position must be currently legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basisPreferred QualificationsAssociates or Bachelors degree from an accredited institutionThree or more years of supervisory experience in a unionized heavy industrial or military environment with responsibility for workforce discipline performance accountability and effective operational communication.Prior steel mill experience strongly preferred.Relocation assistance is not provided for this position.The salary range for this role is 70000 to 110000.
