Shift Lead Mission Readiness & Fleet Response

As the Shift Lead for Mission Readiness & Fleet Response, you are the on-the-floor leader responsible for the flawless execution of daily fleet operations. Reporting to the Team Lead, you ensure that every vehicle on your shift is technically prepared for its mission and serve as the critical bridge between the depot and the road.

You are a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, balancing the structured technical workflows of the workshop with the dynamic needs of live fleet support. While centralized Dispatchers manage the initial coordination of field events, you are the on-site escalation path for your team, providing the technical and operational guidance needed to resolve complex vehicle issues and maintain the heartbeat of the fleets daily cycle.

Shift 3rd Shift 1130pm - 8am Tuesday - Saturday

In this role, you will oversee the day-to-day activities of contract associates, ensuring all pre-mission tasks, including software, firmware deployment, sensor cleaning, and safety checks, are completed on time and to Zoox standards. You will serve as the primary point of contact for the shift to resolve blockers, providing immediate guidance when field incidents require on-site technical decisions or when vehicle preparation hits critical delays.

You will supervise and mentor a team of contract associates, ensuring high productivity, accountability, and adherence to Zooxs operational playbooks. You will conduct new-hire onboarding and continuous training for contingent staff, ensuring the team is proficient in using internal tools and following standard operating procedures (SOPs).

As the first level of quality control, you will act as the first level of quality control for all data reporting and vehicle readiness documentation, ensuring 100% accuracy in our UpDown fleet status tracking. You will also enforce OSHA guidelines and Zoox health and safety policies, ensuring the workshop is organized and the facility is in a mission-ready state.

You will assist the Team Lead in tracking KPIs related to mission start-time delays and vehicle turnaround efficiency, providing ground-truth context for performance gaps. You will manually drive auxiliary vehicles when needed and provide logistical support for the movement of assets and equipment within the geosite.
