The Sheriffs Department is recruiting for Sheriffs Licensed Clinical Therapists II*, who serve as lead workers and direct a small clinical staff. These positions provide individual and group psychotherapy, evaluations and investigations, and professional counseling in accordance with applicable professional licensing laws in a law enforcement setting.

Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Shift: Must be available to work various 8-12 hour shifts on a 24 hour basis, which include day, night, swing, rotating, holidays and weekends.
Background: Candidates must not have been convicted of a felony and must successfully pass an extensive background investigation which includes a fingerprint check and polygraph.
Physical Demands: Incumbents will be required to immediately respond to emergency situations while on duty which may involve hostile and volatile wards and inmates. Requires the following physical demands: balancing, bending, climbing, crawling, kneeling, sitting, squatting, standing, stooping, turning, twisting and walking long distances both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions; hand and finger dexterity in both hands; ability to manipulate heavy duty security locks and doors; reaching or working above and below shoulder level; normal vision, including color discrimination; normal hearing; and carrying up to 10 pounds.
Working Conditions: Working conditions involve exposure to hazardous and infectious materials and communicable diseases.
Travel: Travel throughout the County may be required and employees will be required to make provisions for such transportation.
Detention Differential: Clinical therapists regularly assigned to work in detention facilities receive additional compensation.
Licensed Professional Clinical Counselors: Applicants with PCC licensure must provide proof of the required coursework or named specialty and a copy of supervision agreement/Board of Behavioral Science (BBS) hours verification form (as described in the minimum requirements section) in order for contingent offers to be made.
Sponsorship: San Bernardino County is not able to consider candidates who will require visa sponsorship at the time of application or in the future.
Minimum Requirements
License: Must be licensed in the State of California as a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC). A copy of license is required upon appointment.
Experience: One (1) year of direct service post-license experience as a licensed therapist, within the last five (5) years, in a behavioral health, social service, institutional, or correctional setting.
Application must clearly distinguish between pre-licensed and post-licensed experience.
Note: Licenses must be active, unrestricted and in good standing.

There will be a competitive evaluation of qualifications based on the information provided in the Application and the Supplemental Questionnaire. Please ensure all relevant experience is indicated in the Application and responses to the Supplemental Questionnaire, as resumes and other attachments will not be reviewed for the competitive evaluation.
