Summary: <\/span><\/span><\/b>The Workforce Group a LEMOINE company,<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span> is seeking compassionate, reliable individuals to join our team as Shelter Workers during emergency response operations. Shelter Workers provide direct support to shelter residents by assisting with daily services such as food distribution, hygiene supply management, resident intake, and facility cleanliness. This role is vital to ensuring a safe, clean, and respectful environment for displaced individuals during times of crisis.<\/span><\/span>

These are seasonal<\/i><\/span> positions and, if activated, will likely require travel on short notice, generally lasting from several days to a few weeks and possibly 30 days or more, depending on the disaster response needs. Ideal candidates for these missions will be available to deploy within 24 to 72 hours of notification.<\/i><\/span>

Duties and Responsibilities:<\/span><\/span><\/b>
<\/span><\/span><\/p>

  • Assist with resident intake, registration, and orientation upon arrival.<\/span>
    <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>
  • Distribute meals, hygiene items, bedding, and other supplies to shelter residents.<\/span>
    <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>
  • Monitor common areas to ensure safety and cleanliness.<\/span>
    <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>
  • Support residents with general inquiries and assist with special needs when possible.<\/span>
    <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>
  • Document incidents or concerns and report them to the Shelter Supervisor.<\/span>
    <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>
  • Help maintain order and follow shelter policies and safety procedures.<\/span>
    <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>
  • Assist with setting up and breaking down shelter facilities.<\/span>
    <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>
  • Perform other job -related duties as assigned.<\/span>

    Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: <\/span><\/span><\/b>A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Previous experience in customer service, human services, or emergency response is preferred but not required.<\/span><\/span>

    • Compassionate and respectful communication skills.<\/span>
      <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>
    • Ability to work long shifts, including nights and weekends.<\/span>
      <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>
    • Physical ability to stand, walk, and perform light labor tasks throughout the shift.<\/span>

    • Team -oriented mindset with a strong commitment to safety and service.<\/span>

    • Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision.<\/span>
