About the Role
The Shelf Edge Coordinator oversees the daily operations of the Shelf Edge Department, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and product presentation across the store. This role is responsible for pricing integrity, signage, planogram audits, perpetual inventory accuracy, and compliance with federal and state regulations. The Shelf Edge Coordinator supervises and trains team members to deliver operational excellence while modeling Vallarta's core values: customer service, commitment, integrity, respect, humility, and teamwork.
What You'll Do
- Ensure timely updates to shelf tags and signage across all departments, including weekly advertisement and promotional changes.
- Order, print, and manage shelf tags and signage to maintain pricing integrity.
- Audit pricing, codes, tare weights, and investigate discrepancies to ensure compliance with company and state standards.
- Maintain WIC identification labeling and COOL compliance.
- Manage supplies and support other departments with shelf-edge processes and production planning.
- Conduct perpetual inventory audits and support replenishment accuracy.
- Perform planogram audits to ensure store layout matches corporate standards; communicate changes to relevant departments.
- Supervise and train Shelf Edge team members, setting performance expectations and conducting evaluations.
- Schedule team members within budget guidelines and promote teamwork.
- Ensure safety compliance, enforce company policies, and address injuries or complaints promptly.
- Provide extraordinary customer service while modeling Vallarta's Nuestra CASA pledge.
- Support other store departments and perform additional duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
- Stand and walk constantly (6-8 hours/day).
- Frequently bend neck/waist, squat, twist, and reach above/below shoulders.
- Frequent use of hands for grasping, pulling, pushing, and fine manipulation.
- Lift and carry up to 25 lbs. frequently and up to 20 lbs. as the heaviest item for up to 5 feet.
- Work near equipment and machinery.
- Exposure to dust, gas, fumes, noise, and varying temperatures/humidity.
What We're Looking For
- Friendly, customer-oriented personality with strong organizational skills.
- Minimum of 6 months' experience in a supermarket or retail environment.
- Prior supervisory experience preferred.
- Knowledge of pricing systems, planograms, and inventory accuracy processes.
- Strong leadership and communication skills to inspire and train team members.
- Intermediate computer proficiency (Word, Outlook, Excel).
- Ability to perform basic math calculations related to pricing and inventory.
- Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.
- Willingness to transfer to other store locations if needed.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
