- The Sheetmetal Technician works under general supervision to safely layout, fabricate, and install parts, equipment and fabricated items on aircraft following established operating procedures.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :
- All work performed should be in accordance with company design specifications, quality standards and completed work should meet customer expectations.
- Interpersonal skills and ability to interface with all levels, to work in teams or independently and communicate effectively with co-workers or supervisory staff.
- Safely perform sheet-metal layout, fabrication, and installation of parts, equipment or fabricated items on aircraft under general supervision.
- Coordinate with supervision and Inspection to ensure compliance with internal and FAA paperwork, sign-offs and quality specifications
- Use complicated schematics/blueprints, engineering drawings and technical instructions to safely perform sheetmetal layout, fabrication, and installation of parts, equipment or fabricated items on aircraft
- Safely operate shop equipment such as: brakes, presses, riveting equipment, shears, and hand tools associated with sheet-metal functions

- Install sheet metal and duct systems
- Fabricating metal repair and modifying aircraft sheet metal and composite structure and various aircraft component parts
- Perform work in the sheet metal back shop
- Fabricate all types of sheet metal parts with proficiency
- Creating and installing building parts made of sheet metal
- Specializing in sheet metal fabrication and assembly
- Perform a variety of general sheet metal fabrication functions
- Assisting in fabrication and installation of sheet metal fittings
- Operate clean sheet metal facilities with brand new equipment
- Forming sheet metal components using mechanical and hydraulic presses
- Install and maintain in good repair aircraft sheet metal surfaces and fixtures
- Followed in the construction or assembly of sheet metal products
- Install, alter and repair sheet metal products and equipment
- Cut, punch, thread and form sheet metal Coordinate and assemble ducts, hoods and other sheet metal products
- Inspect, and perform maintenance on customer aircraft sheet metal components and composites
- Coordinate purchasing activities of metal, sheet metal, and process purchase requisitions in a timely manner
- Fabricate tools required in the forming of complicated sheet metal parts and assemblies
- Set up and operate soldering and welding equipment to join sheet metal parts
- Cut, punch, drill, shape or straighten sheet metal
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, or products specifications to determine sequence and methods of fabrication, assembling, and installing sheet metal products
