ABOUT THE POSITION
Elite Health & Fitness is looking for friendly, reliable, and fitness-minded Shake Bar & Member Services Representatives to join our team.
This position is primarily responsible for operating the shake bar while also helping provide a welcoming experience for members and guests. Depending on the scheduled shift, employees may also be responsible for opening or closing the gym, checking in members, answering basic questions, and providing facility tours.
This is not a membership sales position. Shake bar employees will not be responsible for lead follow-up, meeting sales quotas, or closing membership sales.
SCHEDULE
Shifts are scheduled in four-hour blocks:
Weekdays:
• Opening shift: 6:00 a.m.–10:00 a.m.
• Midday shift: 10:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.
• Evening shift: 3:00 p.m.–7:00 p.m.
• Closing shift: 7:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m.
Weekends:
• Opening shift: 7:00 a.m.–11:00 a.m.
• Midday shift: 11:00 a.m.– 2:00 p.m.
• Closing shift: 2:00 p.m.–6:00 p.m.
Employees may work approximately 4–24 hours per week, depending on availability and business needs. Candidates do not need to be available for every shift, but consistent availability is required for the shifts they accept.
Weekend availability is a plus but not required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Shake Bar Service
• Prepare protein shakes up to standard specs.
• Take orders and provide friendly, efficient service.
• Answer basic questions about products and ingredients.
• Recommend shake bar products based on members’ preferences.
• Promote shake bar specials, featured products, and new menu items.
• Follow food-safety, sanitation, and allergen-awareness procedures.
Member Services
• Greet and check in members in a friendly and professional manner.
• Answer phone calls and assist with basic questions.
• Welcome prospective members and provide facility tours when needed.
• Explain the gym’s amenities, programs, and general membership options.
• Collect contact information and connect interested guests with a Membership Sales Representative.
• Direct detailed membership questions, pricing discussions, and enrollment requests to the sales team.
• Help maintain a welcoming and organized environment for members and guests.
• Communicate member concerns or facility issues to management.
Opening Responsibilities
Employees scheduled for the 6:00 a.m.–10:00 a.m. shift will be responsible for opening the gym. Opening responsibilities may include:
• Completing an opening walkthrough of the gym.
• Confirming that entrances, bathrooms, workout areas, and the shake bar are ready for members.
• Preparing the shake bar for service.
• Reporting safety, maintenance, or cleanliness concerns to management.
• Welcoming and checking in the first members of the day.
Closing Responsibilities
Employees scheduled for the 7:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m. shift will be responsible for closing the gym. Closing responsibilities may include:
• Announcing the approaching closing time to members.
• Completing a final walkthrough of the facility.
• Confirming that members and guests have exited the building.
• Cleaning and closing the shake bar.
• Securing designated equipment, doors, and entrances.
• Turning off designated lights and equipment.
• Setting the security system and locking the facility.
• Reporting any incidents, maintenance concerns, or unfinished responsibilities to management.
Payments and Point-of-Sale Responsibilities
• Process shake bar, snack, retail, and other approved purchases.
• Accurately enter orders into the point-of-sale system.
• Process cash, credit card, account-charge, and other approved payment methods.
• Maintain an organized register and report payment discrepancies.
• Assist members with basic questions about shake bar purchases or account charges.
Cleaning and Organization
• Keep counters, equipment, refrigerators, storage areas, and customer spaces clean.
• Wash and sanitize blenders, utensils, containers, and other equipment.
• Complete assigned opening, shift, and closing cleaning responsibilities.
• Restock cups, lids, ingredients, supplements, and other supplies.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing shake bar.
• Help maintain a clean and orderly front entrance and member-service area.
Inventory
• Monitor inventory levels and notify management when products are running low.
• Receive, organize, rotate, and properly store deliveries.
• Check product dates and help reduce unnecessary waste.
• Assist with periodic inventory counts.
• Report damaged, missing, or expired products.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Customer service, food service, hospitality, or retail experience is preferred.
• Friendly, positive, and professional attitude.
• Strong communication skills.
• Dependable and able to arrive on time for scheduled shifts.
• Comfortable working independently during opening or closing shifts.
• Ability to follow facility opening, closing, safety, and security procedures.
• Comfortable speaking with new people and providing facility tours.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently during busy periods.
• Comfortable handling payments and using a point-of-sale system.
• Ability to follow recipes, portion instructions, and sanitation procedures.
• Interest in fitness, nutrition, supplements, or healthy food preparation is preferred.
• Food-safety certification is a plus but not required.
COMPENSATION
$16.00–$18.50 per hour, based on experience.
