The Set-Up Technicians efficiently and safely work on various production equipment. The employee in this position would be expected to work hands on to help tear down and put back together tooling and equipment. They must follow detailed instructions given by the Plant and Production Manager on which lines to work on and change over.
This role is based out of our Fort Pierce, FL location. We are seeking an upbeat individual with a keen eye for detail and a positive demeanor. The successful candidate will have a strong focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITES:
- Safety: maintain a safe work environment through training, adherence to policies and housekeeping.
- Position equipment, tooling and adjustments to achieve proper product dimensions.
- Ensure mechanical operations, standards and controls are maintained at high quality.
- Show expertise in working with team and independently.
- Repair and perform preventive maintenance as per established standards.
- Use hand tools like power tools daily.
- Handle simple and complex heavy industrial equipment like saws, pullers and bellers.
- Working around and with equipment that is heated to 350 degrees
- Using tools to ensure quality of product is met
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Perform other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education & Certificates
- High school education, or equivalency is desired
Technical Skills & Experience
- Knowledge and experience in maintenance or car repair
- At least 1 year in maintenance preferred
- Experience working with and on Extruders is a plus

KEY RELATIONSHIPS:
Regular communication with shift personnel, maintenance team and Plant management.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Employee may be exposed to a moderate level of hazards in the work environment, such as moving machinery, repetitive motion, excessive noise, powered industrial vehicle fork/reach/bucket lift/other.
- Regular work in a non-controlled temperature environment
- May on occasion be exposed to loud sounds and distracting noise levels.
- Employee may be required to perform a considerable level of specific task such as prolonged standing on concrete, muscular action, body movements, working positions and visual attentiveness.
- Employee will be required to wear protective eyewear, appropriate gloves, hearing protection, respiratory protection, safety shoes, and/or other.
- Employee may experience progressive degrees of factors in the work process which may cause mental tension or anxiety.
