You are Boomis senior technical authority on ServiceNow, the architect who translates business requirements into scalable platform solutions, governs how the platform is built, and ensures every technical decision serves the long-term health of the ecosystem. Your primary focus is the architecture: defining standards, shaping requirements before they become implementations, and designing solutions that Boomis development team can build with confidence. Youll engage hands-on when the work calls for it, but building is not your primary role - guiding how it gets built is.
This role sits at the center of a major platform initiative: replacing our current CRM, CPQ, and PRM apps with ServiceNow CRM, CPQ and PRM. Your architectural decisions here will define how Boomi operates for years to come. The right person brings deep ServiceNow platform expertise, strong technical judgment, and the ability to guide the business toward the right solution, not just the requested one.
Prior CRM & CPQ experience is not required for this role, but you will be expected to learn it over time and eventually become an expert. In the interim, you will be supported by several team members on CRM & CPQ concepts to help you learn along the way.
What You’ll Do
• Technical Architecture & Roadmap: Define and maintain the technical architecture for Boomis ServiceNow ecosystem - CSM, SPM, CM Pro, and the CRM, CPQ, PRM suite. Own the technical direction in close partnership with the Platform Owner.
• Requirements & Solutioning: Work directly with business stakeholders and product owners to take in requirements and translate them into technical designs and ServiceNow configurations. Identify when a requirement needs to be shaped or redirected before it becomes a bad implementation.
• Governance & Standards: Establish and enforce development standards, code reviews, and technical best practices across every team that touches the platform - minimizing technical debt and keeping the platform upgradeable and maintainable.
• Instance & Environment Strategy: Define Boomis instance strategy - how many environments, what each sandbox is used for, what the release and promotion cadence looks like, and how we manage platform upgrades without disruption to the business.
• Technical Design: Lead the design of complex integrations, custom applications, and automated workflows across modules (CSM, CRM, CPQ etc.). Lead solutioning for the CRM/CPQ replacement initiative alongside product and business stakeholders.
• Platform Innovation: Stay ahead of ServiceNow releases (e.g., Australia, Brazil) to evaluate new features like Generative AI, Agentic AI and Process Mining - and drive a deliberate point of view on what Boomi should adopt, and when.
• Develop Internal Capability: Mentor developers, establish the technical bar, and build internal ServiceNow expertise so Boomi grows less dependent on external consultants over time.
The Experience You Bring
• Platform Depth: 10+ years of ServiceNow experience in architect-level roles, primarily as an in-house role (non-contractor/consultant) with a track record of owning platform technical strategy and governance, not just delivering projects. Youve worked across multiple modules and can navigate the full platform stack.
• Architectural Judgment: You know the difference between a customization that serves the business and one that creates five years of upgrade pain. You can guide stakeholders toward the right technical solution, even when its not the one they originally asked for. You know how to say no to the business.
• Integration Architecture: Deep experience designing enterprise integrations - LDAP, SSO, SCIM, Mid-Servers, and REST/SOAP - with a focus on patterns that scale, not just solutions that work today.
• Platform Internals: Strong command of CMDB/CSDM, Flow Designer, scoped application development, and performance governance. You understand how the pieces connect across the platform, not just how each piece works in isolation.
• Communication & Soft Skills: Able to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders and business requirements into actionable platform designs. Excellent mentorship abilities and a track record of developing developer teams.
