About Us

Big Rig One Stop Shop is a full-service semi-truck towing and repair facility serving both independent operators and fleet accounts. As our operations expand, we are seeking a skilled and motivated Service Writer to join our team. This role is the central communication hub between customers, office staff, and technicians, ensuring jobs are scheduled, updated, and completed smoothly.

Position Overview

The Service Writer acts as the bridge between the office and the garage, managing repair orders from intake through completion. The ideal candidate is highly organized, customer-focused, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where clear communication is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet customers (in person and over the phone), gather vehicle and repair information, and open work orders.

• Act as the main point of contact between technicians and office staff, ensuring accurate job status updates.

• Communicate clearly with customers about diagnostics, estimates, approvals, and repair timelines.

• Schedule and assign work to technicians, balancing workloads and priorities.

• Document repair needs, costs, parts requirements, and labor in our service software

• Maintain accurate records of work orders, parts, and invoices.

• Ensure completed jobs are closed out properly, including invoicing and customer follow-up.

• Support fleet accounts and maintain professional relationships with repeat clients.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Service Writer, Dispatcher, or in a customer service/administrative role within the automotive or trucking industry preferred.

• Strong communication skills with both customers and technicians.

• Knowledge of truck repair terminology and shop processes a plus.

• Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced shop environment.

• Proficient in computer systems; experience with Shopmonkey or other repair shop management software is a plus.

• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical or business training is a plus.
