Job Description:

Responsibilities and Reporting:

During an Emergency Situation:

  • Essential Employees may be required to work during a declared emergency. Depending on the nature of the emergency, this may require working around the clock for several days on short notice.
  • Non Essential Employees will not be required to work during a declared emergency. The employee's Department Head will determine when the employee will be required to work.

Duties/Responsibilities:

This position requires regular and reliable attendance and the employee's physical presence at the workplace.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • When assigned to the Parks:
  • Landscape installation and maintenance; may include fertilizing and herbicide application.
  • May assist with irrigation system installation, maintenance and repair.
  • Lawn mowing and weed eating.
  • May assist in street cleaning using a backpack blower.
  • May assist in basic painting.
  • Restroom cleaning.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledgeable in general housekeeping practices
  • Knowledgeable in protective equipment and safe handling of chemicals, cleaning agents or hazardous materials.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must possess a valid Florida Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
  • Mandatory Drug/Alcohol Testing required.
  • Must possess Maintenance of Traffic (MOT certification) approved by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) at time of hire or must be able to obtain within twelve (12) months.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

  • High School diploma/GED preferred
  • One (1) year related experience; or education, experience, and/or training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
