    Job Description

    The Service Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of commercial kitchen equipment, HVAC systems, and refrigeration units across the Ellis Island Casino, Hotel, and Village Pub properties. This role ensures all critical systems are operating efficiently and in compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will be dependable, technically skilled, EPA certified, and available to respond to emergency service calls on a rotating on-call basis.

    Location

    In-person in Las Vegas, NV: Reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required). Traveling to all facility locations is required. Service Technicians will operate a company-provided service vehicle, which is typically taken home at the end of each workday.

    Responsibilities

    • Diagnose, repair, maintain Commercial refrigeration units, HVAC, and Kitchen cooking equipment.
    • Perform routine and emergency maintenance on HVAC systems, ensuring optimal climate control across all facilities.
    • Maintain and troubleshoot commercial refrigeration systems, including walk-ins, freezers, and coolers.
    • Respond to service calls promptly, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as part of a rotating on-call schedule.
    • Travel between company sites to perform inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance.
    • Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and time spent on service calls using a work order system.
    • Ensure all work is completed in compliance with OSHA, EPA, and company safety policies and standards.
    • Collaborate with property management and facilities teams to proactively identify and resolve mechanical or systems issues.
    • Source and order necessary parts and supplies in coordination with the Facilities team.
    • Provide input on capital improvements and system upgrades based on observed wear or inefficiency.
    • Support special projects and property upgrades as needed.

    Skills / Experience

    • High school diploma or equivalent required; Trade school training or equivalent hands-on experience preferred.
    • EPA Universal Certification required.
    • At least 3 years of experience in commercial kitchen equipment repair.
    • Proven experience in HVAC service and commercial refrigeration maintenance.
    • Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
    • Proficient with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and other relevant software.
    • Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations regarding safety, health, and environmental compliance.
    • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
    • Maintain a state-issued driver's license and a clean DMV record to be available to use a Company vehicle if needed and adhere to the Company's Driver Policy.
    • Standard work hours are Monday through Friday, with participation in a rotating on-call schedule required.
    • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
    • Must be willing and able to travel to various business operations locations to provide on-site maintenance support as needed.
    • Ability to submit to and pass a background check prior to hire.
    • Ability to submit to and pass a drug test prior to hire.

    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time.
    • Use hands to handle objects and tools.
    • Regularly lift, move, push, and pull objects weighing at least 100 pounds with or without assistance.
    • Schedule flexibility and emergency responsiveness are critical due to the 24/7 nature of hospitality operations.
    • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
    • Team Member is exposed to several factors, including dust, cigarette smoke, and possibly various outside weather conditions.
