Service Technician - DC Power (Telecom / Industrial)
We are seeking a hands-on Service Technician to support installation, maintenance, and upgrades of DC power systems across telecom, UPS, and utility environments. This is a field-based role with consistent travel and exposure to critical infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
Install and maintain battery systems, rectifiers, and DC power plants
(telecom, data center, UPS, or utility)
Perform power plant upgrades and replacements
Work with distribution equipment (PBDs, BDFBs, BDCBBs), inverters, and converters
Run and terminate power cable (lug crimping, lacing, routing)
Take voltage and specific gravity readings
Support AC power systems (120V single-phase to 480V three-phase)
Ensure safe, high-quality work at customer sites
Minimum Qualifications
Basic understanding of lead-acid battery systems
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
Capable of reading and interpreting technical drawings and manuals
Strong mechanical aptitude, math skills, and written communication skills
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Ability to pass background check and drug screening (including random testing, per customer requirements)
Must obtain and maintain a DOT Medical Qualification Card
Physical Requirements
Lift up to 50 lbs independently (heavier with assistance)
Work in tight spaces, climb ladders, and use hand/power tools
Perform physically demanding field work safel
Work Environment
Frequent travel to various job sites and customer locations
Work performed in diverse environments, including:
Remote and outdoor locations
Industrial facilities
Physically demanding and variable conditions
Schedule
1st Shift: Typically 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM (Hours may vary based on travel and customer needs)
