    Description

    Position Purpose

    The Service Supervisor plays a key leadership role in supporting front-end operations and delivering an exceptional customer experience. This position oversees daily customer service activities, assists in supervising front-end associates, ensures operational compliance, and helps maintain efficient store operations. The Service Supervisor serves as a leader on duty, providing direction, coaching, and support to team members while promoting a safe, productive, and customer-focused environment.

    Key Responsibilities Customer Service & Front-End Operations

    • Deliver and promote outstanding customer service by creating a positive shopping experience for all customers.
    • Oversee front-end operations, including checkout lanes, self-checkout areas, and customer service functions.
    • Respond to and resolve customer concerns, complaints, and service opportunities promptly and professionally.
    • Monitor service levels and adjust staffing assignments to meet customer needs.
    • Ensure front-end areas remain clean, organized, and customer-ready throughout the day.

    Leadership & Team Development

    • Provide leadership, direction, and daily support to cashiers, courtesy clerks, and front-end associates.
    • Coach and train associates on customer service, operational procedures, and company standards.
    • Reinforce performance expectations and promote accountability.
    • Assist with onboarding and developing new team members.
    • Foster a positive work environment built on teamwork, communication, and respect.

    Operational Excellence

    • Monitor front-end productivity, transaction accuracy, and operational efficiency.
    • Coordinate breaks, lunches, and staffing assignments to ensure service standards are maintained.
    • Support execution of company programs, promotions, and operational initiatives.
    • Ensure compliance with cash handling procedures, register accountability, and front-end operational standards.
    • Maintain awareness of store conditions and communicate operational needs to store leadership.

    Compliance & Safety

    • Follow and enforce company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
    • Promote a safe working environment for customers and associates.
    • Identify and address safety concerns, hazards, and maintenance issues.
    • Support store compliance audits and operational readiness efforts.
    • Ensure associates follow workplace safety and loss prevention procedures.

    Financial Stewardship

    • Support efforts to control labor costs while maintaining excellent service levels.
    • Monitor checkout accuracy and adherence to cash accountability procedures.
    • Assist in reducing operational losses through proper execution of company processes.
    • Support achievement of front-end productivity and performance goals.

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
    • Previous customer service, retail, or supervisory experience preferred.
    • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to multitask and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities.
    • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
    • Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, and twisting.
    • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.
