Job Description

POSITION INFORMATION

Check for basic common problems, such as defective manufacturing or loose connections, often referring to schematics and specifications to locate the malfunction.

ROLE MISSION

The Service Repair Technician Level I will be responsible to, under direct supervision, diagnose, repair and/or assemble electronic equipment.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Diagnose, with minimal assistance, general mechanical, hardware, software, and systems failures using/learning established procedures and techniques.
  • Determine the correct diagnostic tools, signal generators, troubleshooting methodologies, and related common hand tools.
  • Basic repair of circuit boards at a component level (when required).
  • Clearly document findings and actions taken while updating the companys ERP System.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area, adhere to all safety procedures.
  • Actively participate in 6S Program daily activities.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

Education (School/Specialization)

High school diploma or equivalent; may have several years of college or trade school;

Primary Language

English (fluent)

Experience

Minimum of 1-year experience. Electronics, Bench, troubleshooting or combination of education & experience.

Travel Requirements

None or minimal.

Skills

OTHER INFORMATION & SPECIFIC SKILLS

  • Have a basic working knowledge of electric and digital circuits, solid-state electronics, computer design, electrical machinery, digital design, logic circuits, diagnostic equipment, and power supplies. Ability to read electronic schematics, has a good understanding of wiring diagrams and be able to troubleshoot down to the component level.
  • Basic understanding in the use of databases, semiconductors, technical mathematics, industrial motors, and laser systems. Understand how to identify and work with electronic components, work on circuit boards, troubleshoot systems, and work with wireless and electronic communications devices.
  • Can demonstrate good troubleshooting, soldering, and test equipment skills and be able to communicate findings clearly. Has basic ESD awareness.
  • Self-starter that can work with direct supervision, with ability to recognize business needs and prioritize tasks accordingly. Keep their understanding and knowledge current regarding new products and technologies.
  • Low-voltage and high-voltage repair experience. Effective communication skills. Good attention to detail Ability to operate effectively in a team environment.

Equipment and Work Environment

Equipment and Applications:

  • Basic computer skills + Microsoft Office experience (Outlook, Excel, Word), and working knowledge of an ERP system (SAP a plus). Basic understanding of BOM (Bill of Materials) structure and purpose.
  • Travel could be possible on an infrequent or occasional basis.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

Activities require handling and grasping with the hands when performing assembly, repairs, or maintenance of equipment by utilizing hand tools, soldering equipment, air tools, nuts, bolts, electronic controls and other small parts. Frequent lifting =<25 lbs., occasional lifting =<50 lbs. Ability to wear PPE equipment as required. Ability to walk and stand on relatively even surfaces for up to 6 hours in one working stretch.
