    Position Purpose

    The Service Operations Manager is responsible for leading front-end store operations and delivering an exceptional customer experience. This role oversees customer service, cashier operations, service desk functions, staffing, scheduling, training, and operational execution. The Service Operations Manager drives customer satisfaction, associate engagement, and financial performance while ensuring compliance with company policies and operational standards.

    Key Responsibilities Customer Experience & Service Leadership

    • Lead and model exceptional customer service standards.
    • Foster a customer-first culture throughout the front-end operation.
    • Ensure prompt resolution of customer concerns, complaints, and service issues.
    • Monitor customer satisfaction and implement strategies to improve the shopping experience.
    • Promote positive customer interactions and service recovery efforts.

    Front-End Operations

    • Oversee daily front-end operations, including:

    • Checkout lanes

    • Self-checkout areas

    • Customer service desk

    • Cash office functions

    • Courtesy clerk activities

    • Ensure adequate staffing levels to support customer traffic and business needs.

    • Monitor transaction efficiency and service levels.

    • Maintain operational readiness and adherence to company standards.

    Financial Management & Compliance

    • Ensure accurate cash handling, accounting, and reconciliation procedures.
    • Monitor register shortages, overages, and cash variances.
    • Maintain compliance with company cash control policies and audit requirements.
    • Assist in controlling labor expenses through effective scheduling and productivity management.
    • Support achievement of store sales and profitability goals.

    Leadership & Talent Development

    • Recruit, train, coach, and develop front-end associates and supervisors.
    • Create an environment that promotes teamwork, accountability, and engagement.
    • Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback.
    • Identify development opportunities and succession planning candidates.
    • Recognize and reward strong associate performance.

    Scheduling & Workforce Management

    • Develop and manage department schedules based on business demands and labor budgets.
    • Monitor attendance, productivity, and performance standards.
    • Ensure appropriate coverage during peak business periods.
    • Support workforce planning to maintain operational efficiency.

    Operational Excellence

    • Monitor front-end performance metrics and identify improvement opportunities.
    • Execute company initiatives, programs, and operational directives.
    • Maintain equipment functionality and coordinate repairs when necessary.
    • Ensure compliance with merchandising, promotional, and operational programs.
    • Collaborate with other department leaders to support store-wide objectives.

    Safety & Regulatory Compliance

    • Promote a safe environment for customers and associates.
    • Ensure compliance with all company policies, safety procedures, and applicable regulations.
    • Conduct routine inspections and address identified safety concerns.
    • Support emergency response procedures and store security initiatives.
    • Maintain confidentiality regarding customer, associate, and company information.
