Job Details

We are looking for a Service Operations Manager to lead the operational infrastructure of our Service Department. This role focuses on managing Work in Progress (WIP), improving process discipline, coordinating workflows, and enhancing operational efficiency. You will provide leadership over the Service Coordinator function and ensure that service work flows smoothly from intake through execution, billing, and closeout. As a key player in connecting service operations, field leadership, sales, and finance, your contributions will be vital in enhancing visibility, accountability, and performance across the department.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead day-to-day operations of the Service Department, improving workflow, coordination, and overall efficiency.
  • Assess current systems and workflows to identify inefficiencies and develop processes that enhance execution and visibility.
  • Oversee WIP management, ensuring timely documentation, billing, and job closeout while monitoring trends and identifying areas for intervention.
  • Provide leadership to the Service Coordinator function, optimizing team structure and performance through mentorship and development.
  • Collaborate with finance and operations teams to develop service-specific financial and operational reporting, ensuring alignment with department goals.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by receiving feedback from various stakeholders and adapting processes as needed.

Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of operational leadership experience, preferably in service industries such as construction, HVAC, or plumbing.
  • Experience leading support or operations teams in a fast-paced service environment.
  • Strong understanding of workflow management, process improvement, and operational accountability.
  • Proficient in financial reporting and billing processes, with strong systems aptitude and experience with ERP platforms and reporting tools.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Operations Management, or a related field (preferred)
  • Experience with BuildOps (a plus)
