Service Operations Leader, Crane & Hoist Systems

Your First 90 Days
- Stand up reliable scheduling/dispatch routines for inspections, service, and repair calls.
- Establish quality and safety audit rhythms across active jobsites.
- Meet customers, align expectations, and strengthen communication channels.
- Baseline key metrics: backlog, response time, utilization, and job margins.
What You’ll Tackle
- Operations: Coordinate daily work assignments; ensure timely completion of work orders, PMs, and emergencies; verify technician performance and job quality.
- Leadership: Hire, train, coach, and mentor technicians and coordinators; conduct performance reviews; instill a safety-first, team-oriented culture; keep credentials and compliance current.
- Customer Experience: Act as primary contact for scheduling updates, recommendations, and escalations; cultivate repeat business; review reports and explain findings clearly.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce OSHA and company policies; require PPE; conduct jobsite walk-throughs, safety checks, and quality audits.
- Financials: Approve quotes, timecards, and documentation; support budgeting/forecasting; track profitability and labor utilization; assist with pricing, job costing, and invoice review.
- Improvement: Identify efficiency gains and streamline workflows using feedback and data analysis.
What You Bring
- 3+ years managing field technicians in mechanical, industrial, crane/hoist, heavy equipment, or related environments.
- Mechanical/electrical savvy with hands-on familiarity in crane/hoist systems.
- Comfort with service management software, scheduling tools, and MS Office.
- Clear communicator and confident leader with strong customer service instincts.
- Skilled at juggling priorities in a high-velocity setting.
- Solid command of OSHA and safety best practices.
- Must meet background check and drug screen requirements.
- Willing to travel occasionally to job sites and customer facilities.
Working Conditions
Mix of office and field environments. May include exposure to heights, loud equipment, industrial facilities, and outdoor conditions. PPE is provided.
