FULL DESCRIPTION: We are seeking an experienced Service Manager to lead a team supporting marine engine and generator systems across commercial and luxury vessel clients. This role combines technical expertise, leadership, and customer-facing responsibilities, making it ideal for someone who thrives in both the field and an operational leadership environment.
This position offers the opportunity to work with high-end marine equipment, travel to unique locations, and play a key role in ensuring top-tier service delivery.
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
Lead and manage a team of field service technicians, ensuring proper scheduling, coverage, and performance
Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, handling service inquiries, troubleshooting issues, and providing solutions
Diagnose mechanical and propulsion-related issues over the phone and in person
Coordinate service calls, assign technicians, and step in on-site when needed
Prepare and present service quotes, timelines, and work orders
Manage customer communication including follow-ups, approvals, and payment collection
Oversee commissioning of new vessels, including coordination with manufacturers and training participation
Ensure technicians have the necessary tools, parts, and resources to complete jobs efficiently
Participate in regular service meetings and collaborate cross-functionally
The selected candidate will also possess:
2+ years of management or leadership experience
5+ years of hands-on mechanical engine experience (marine or similar heavy equipment preferred)
2+ years of propulsion system experience
Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with high-end clientele
Work Environment & Schedule:
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Travel: Approximately 50% travel, including domestic and occasional international travel
Combination of office, field, and client-site work environments
Salary Range: $90-110k/year
