HVAC Service Manager | Houston, TX
If you've spent years in the field doing it the right way, and you're ready to lead a team that actually follows your standard, Big League Air wants to talk.
Big League Air is a premium HVAC brand serving high-end residential and light commercial clients in the Houston area. We hold our work to a higher standard than most, and that starts with the people we put in charge. We're looking for a Service Manager who knows the trade from the ground up. Not someone who learned HVAC in a conference room. Someone who's been in the attic, diagnosed the hard calls, and built systems that actually work.
This is a leadership role with real responsibility. You'll be the bridge between the office and the field, and we need someone who can hold both sides accountable.
What You'll Get:
- $30-$40/hr to start with a clear path to six figures
- Profit sharing built into a 2-year growth plan
- Monthly insurance stipend
- Accrued PTO based on hours worked, plus paid holidays
- Company vehicle
- Phone and fuel covered
- Direct access to ownership and real input on how the department runs
What You'll Be Doing:
- Leading and developing a team of service techs and installation crews
- Riding along with techs, giving real feedback, and helping them improve
- Providing field support and remote troubleshooting when techs run into tough calls
- Managing dispatch and scheduling to keep work flowing efficiently
- Holding the line on quality, permits, and safety standards on every job
- Running weekly team meetings and performance reviews
- Handling customer escalations and getting to a resolution fast
- Tracking department budget and hitting gross margin targets
- Managing fleet, inventory, and equipment
- Keeping leadership informed on market trends, revenue opportunities, and issues that affect the business
- Enforcing company code of ethics and team standards
Who We're Looking For:
You hold yourself to a high standard and expect the same from the people you lead. You can earn respect from a tech because you've done the work. And you don't let things slide because it's easier.
Beyond that:
- Expert-level experience in residential and light commercial HVAC service AND installation (this is mandatory)
- Deep technical knowledge across low voltage, high voltage, refrigerant, zoning, static pressure, combustion, subcooling, and superheat
- Ability to troubleshoot remotely across residential and light commercial situations
- Experience leading or supervising field technicians
- EPA 608 certification
- Strong communication skills between the field and the office
- Comfortable with paperwork, evaluations, and scheduling
- Valid driver's license with a clean record
