We are looking for an experienced Service Manager to oversee a dedicated team of diesel mechanics repairing commercial heavy -duty vehicles and equipment in the Fairfield, NJ area.

As a Service Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the diesel repair shop. Your primary duties will include managing the service team, ensuring efficient workflow, maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction, and driving performance across key metrics.

Responsibilities:<\/u><\/b>
<\/div>
  • Oversee and manage service department which includes shop and field service technicians, scheduling, staffing, and workflow management.
    <\/span><\/li>
  • Ensure all repairs and maintenance are performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry standards and regulations.<\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Monitor shop operations including inventory management, parts ordering, tracking, and invoice processing to ensure timely and cost effective purchasing
    <\/li>
  • Provide leadership, training, and support to service technicians, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.<\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Provide mentorship and support to mechanics by offering guidance, training, and constructive performance feedback to strengthen team skills and improve overall efficiency.<\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Implement strategies to improve service efficiency, work quality.
    <\/span><\/li>
  • Maintain accurate records of all service activities, including work orders, and vendor invoices.
    <\/span><\/li>
  • Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and regulations.
    <\/span><\/li><\/ul>

    Qualifications:<\/u><\/b>
    <\/div>
    • Proven experience as a Service/Fleet Manager or in a similar leadership role within the diesel repair industry
      <\/li>
    • Strong knowledge of diesel engine diagnostics, repair, and preventative maintenance
      <\/li>
    • Demonstrated leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff
      <\/li>
    • Excellent customer service and communication abilities
      <\/li>
    • Ability to multitask effectively and manage competing priorities in a fast -paced environment
      <\/li>
    • Strong mechanical aptitude, along with solid organizational and problem -solving skills
      <\/li>
    • Prior diesel mechanic experience preferred
      <\/li>
    • Familiarity with fleet management systems
      <\/li>
    • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
      <\/li><\/ul>

      Compensation:<\/u><\/b>

      • $100k - $115k, annually
        <\/span><\/li>
