What You'll Be Doing:

As a Service Coordinator, you play a key role in improving efficiency throughout the repair process, enhancing the customer experience, and supporting the service department’s profitability. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, hands-on professional with strong organizational skills, clear communication, and a proactive approach to identifying and eliminating inefficiencies. This role requires safely operating equipment, implementing strategic processes, and supporting the service team in daily operations.

Responsibilities:
  • Act as a liaison between technicians and the service office to ensure smooth workflow and communication.

  • Maximize efficiency throughout the repair process by staging equipment and parts for timely repairs.

  • Update and maintain the service dispatch system to accurately reflect equipment status.

  • Prepare and maintain shop bay cleanliness and organization.

  • Retrieve and return special tooling or additional parts as needed during repairs.

  • Conduct quality control inspections post-repair to ensure work meets standards.

  • Direct cleaning and preparation of equipment prior to customer delivery or retail sale.

  • Continuously identify opportunities to eliminate inefficiencies and improve service operations.

What's Required

 

Skills / Experience

  • 2+ years of experience with John Deere equipment or equivalent service department experience.

  • Strong customer service skills with a positive attitude and aptitude for equipment repair.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Ability to navigate various software programs used in service management.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to plan and execute daily tasks efficiently.

  • Flexible and adaptable, able to adjust plans in response to unforeseen obstacles or needs.

  • Experience working cooperatively in a team environment.

  • Continuous focus on improving service efficiency, safety, and processes.

  • Commitment to achieving model performance and implementing solutions to support service goals.

  • Ability to safely operate equipment such as overhead cranes and forklifts.

Preferred

  • Additional experience with service department process improvement initiatives.

  • Familiarity with quality control procedures and post-repair inspections.

  • Exposure to advanced John Deere diagnostic tools or similar technologies.

Compensation is competitive and based on skill level, experience, and knowledge.

 

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent life education
  • Current forklift operator certification is preferred.

Physical Requirements: 

  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate computers, phones, and office equipment.

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds as needed.

  • Ability to reach, bend, stoop, kneel, and climb when staging equipment or parts.

  • Must be able to safely operate forklifts, overhead cranes, or other shop equipment.

  • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors, including exposure to seasonal weather conditions.

  • Requires close vision for reading documents, computer screens, and equipment details.

  • Must communicate effectively in person and over the phone.
