Job Description and Duties

This position requires a current Service Assistant (Maintenance) exam. If you need to take the exam or if your score has expired, please click here to gain list eligibility.
Under the close supervision of the Deputy Manager I, the incumbent will work with the maintenance crew to perform the less difficult general maintenance duties and the upkeep of all buildings, grounds, animal stalls and arenas throughout the year for fair time activities and interim rental usage. The incumbent will work as a member of a team on maintenance projects.

Working Conditions
The work environment will be outdoors and subject to heat, fog, wind, and other weather conditions. The incumbent will utilize a variety of tools, which could include wrenches, sockets pry-bars and screwdrivers, hammers, hand-tools, saws, brooms, mops, ladders, paint brushes and rollers, push mowers, weed-eaters, blowers edger's; shovels, and rakes.

The 21-A District Agricultural Association / Madera District Fair sits on 116 acres adjacent to Highway 99 in the central valley which hosts a Speedway, Flea Market, mini cart track and a fully utilized shopping center. The 21-A DAA strives to maintain and promote its facilities in a manner that encourages year-round use and to annually produce a fair that shows the area's agriculture and other talents of its culturally diverse communities.
