Working Service Drive Manager

Job Overview

Ray Laethem is looking for an experienced and hands-on Working Service Drive Manager to lead and actively participate in the daily operations of our service department. This role combines leadership responsibilities with front-line service advising, customer interaction, and operational support.

The ideal candidate is a motivated leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, leads by example, and is committed to delivering an outstanding customer experience while driving department performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Actively work the service drive alongside advisors and support staff
  • Write repair orders, greet customers, and assist with service recommendations as needed
  • Manage daily service lane operations and workflow
  • Lead, coach, and support service advisors and service staff
  • Handle escalated customer concerns and ensure customer satisfaction
  • Monitor repair order progress and coordinate with technicians and parts departments
  • Drive sales performance, labor growth, maintenance sales, and customer retention
  • Maintain efficient appointment scheduling and service traffic flow
  • Assist with training, hiring, and development of service personnel
  • Ensure compliance with dealership processes, manufacturer standards, and warranty procedures
  • Track and improve key performance indicators including CSI, ELR, advisor productivity, and gross profit

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Service Advisor or Service Manager in an automotive dealership environment
  • Proven leadership and customer service skills
  • Strong understanding of dealership service operations and repair order management
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively in a high-volume service drive
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with dealership management systems 
  • Valid driver’s license required and clean driving record
