Holiday Grill Coney Island in Dearborn is hiring Servers.
We are looking for friendly, dependable people who can provide great customer service in a fast-paced Coney Island-style restaurant. The right person is organized, communicates well, stays calm during busy shifts, and takes pride in making every guest feel welcome.
This is not a tables-only position. At Holiday Grill, a successful server needs to understand the full front-of-house process from start to finish. Servers are expected to learn the hosting process, carryout specialist duties, and cashier responsibilities so they understand how the restaurant runs from the moment a guest walks in, places an order, pays, and leaves satisfied.
All servers must be willing to cross-train and work at least one hosting, carryout, or cashier shift when scheduled. This helps build stronger servers, better teamwork, and smoother service during busy periods.
Responsibilities include:
- Greeting guests and helping with the hosting and seating process
- Taking dine-in, carryout, and phone orders accurately
- Learning carryout specialist duties, including organizing orders, checking accuracy, and helping guests at pickup
- Learning cashier responsibilities, including processing payments and handling guest transactions accurately
- Entering orders and communicating clearly with the kitchen
- Running food, refilling drinks, and checking on tables
- Handling guest questions, special requests, and guest concerns professionally
- Keeping the dining room, counter, carryout area, and service stations clean
- Restocking supplies and helping with opening or closing duties
- Working as part of a team with hosts, cashiers, carryout staff, cooks, managers, and other servers
Ideal candidates:
- Have previous server, waitress, waiter, cashier, host, carryout, or restaurant experience
- Are friendly, professional, and reliable
- Are willing to learn all front-of-house systems, not just one position
- Can work quickly while staying organized
- Have strong communication and multitasking skills
- Can stand and move for long periods during busy shifts
- Are comfortable working weekends and peak meal times
- Are willing to help wherever needed
Schedule:
Full-time and part-time shifts may be available. Weekend availability is preferred. Servers must be willing to work at least one hosting, carryout, or cashier shift as part of training and scheduling.
Pay:
Server Hourly pay is standard $5.49 plus tips for tipped server shifts. For Hosting/Carryout shifts Hourly pay is $13.73 plus tips.
