DPP is seeking a Server Engineer for an opportunity with our client in the healthcare insurance industry.
 
Work location: Partial onsite (T, W, Th onsite) and as needed in Columbia, SC
Duration: 12 months
Terms: W2 contract
Work authorization: Candidates must be eligible to earn a low-level US security clearance.
 
Position summary:
  • The Server Engineer is responsible for maintaining the environment, keeping up with hardware EOL and renewals.
  • Maintains Disaster Recovery readiness, including meeting and planning with customers.
  • During disaster recovery exercises the Engineer is able to maintain, coordinate and troubleshoot issues at a fast pace.
  • The ideal candidate is a self-starter, has excellent communication skills, adaptable, multitasker and dependable 
Required technologies:
  • Disaster Recovery (DR) management
  • Network troubleshooting
  • AIX and Linux Server management 
Nice to have:
  • SAN Storage
  • VMWare 
Minimum required work experience:
  • 8 years of server or other job-related experience 
About the team:
  • The FEPDR team currently consists of 3 people who support and maintain the FEP systems for contingency and DR purposes.
  • The team executes at least 4 disaster recovery exercises a year, one of which is audited and executed 24/7.
  • Hours: 8-5. Overtime is required for any disaster recovery exercises and proof of concept. 
Required education/equivalencies:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other job-related degree;
  • OR, Associates degree in CS, IT, or other job-related degree plus 2 years of work-related experience;
  • OR, 4 years job-related work experience (total 12 years without a degree)
