Career Overview - Full-Time Advanced Practice Clinician (FNP/PA), AFC Urgent Care

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a dedicated, compassionate Physician Assistant (PA) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to join our AFC Urgent Care Clinic in Powdersville, SC. This is an excellent opportunity to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a collaborative, fast-paced urgent care environment while enjoying predictable scheduling and strong organizational support.

As a member of our urgent care team, you will evaluate and treat a broad spectrum of non-emergent illnesses and injuries, supported by experienced medical assistants and front-office staff. Our clinics operate seven days per week, offering consistency, work-life balance, and meaningful connections with patients and colleagues.

Urgent Care Scope of Services

  • Walk-in access to high-quality, non-emergency care
  • Occupational medicine services, including workers' compensation, return-to-work evaluations, and pre-employment physicals
  • On-site diagnostics, including laboratory testing, X-rays, and EKGs
  • Seamless coordination with primary care and specialty providers

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive care for walk-in urgent care patients, including diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up.
  • Perform procedures such as suturing, splinting, incision and drainage, and wound care.
  • Collaborate closely with medical assistants and clinical staff to ensure efficient patient flow.
  • Educate patients and clearly communicate care plans and follow-up instructions.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to quality, patient satisfaction, and continuous professional growth.
  • Travel Requirements: (required)
    • Up to 20% floating to other clinics as needed (mileage reimbursed over 30 miles)

Qualifications

  • Preferred:
    • Minimum of 2 years of active experience as a PA or FNP
    • Urgent care, emergency medicine, or family medicine experience
  • Required:
    • Current, unrestricted South Carolina PA or FNP license (active before starting)
    • Active DEA and CDS licenses (active before starting)
    • New Grads: 12-week Jump Start Program available for new FNP/PA graduates with applicable clinical experience as an MA, Tech, Nurse in Urgent Care, Family Medicine, and/or Emergency Medicine.
    • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced clinical environment
    • DOT certification within 60 days of hire
    • Must be comfortable treating patients of all ages, including infants and geriatrics

Clinic Hours

  • Monday-Friday: 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
  • Saturday & Sunday: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Work Hours

  • Full-Time:
    • Week 1: Three 12-hour shifts
    • Week 2: Two 12-hour shifts plus weekend
    • 39 hours per week.
    • 1optional administrative hour per week dedicated to charting
  • Clinics are closed New Year's Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
