Overview:

The Senior Warehouse Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and executing the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, including inventory management, equipment maintenance, fleet readiness, procurement, shipping and receiving, facility upkeep, and operational support. This position serves as the lead resource within the warehouse and provides operational guidance, training, and support to Warehouse Coordinators while ensuring compliance with company policies, safety standards, and operational expectations.

The Senior Warehouse Coordinator partners closely with the Regional Warehouse and Equipment Supervisors, Field Operations, Safety, and the Operations Service Center (OSC) to ensure equipment availability, inventory accuracy, operational efficiency, and a safe, organized work environment.

Responsibilities:

Leadership Responsibilities

  • Serve as the lead resource and subject matter expert for warehouse operations.
  • Train, onboard, mentor, and support Warehouse Coordinators and new team members.
  • Provide operational and equipment-related guidance, training, and support regarding inventory management, equipment maintenance, repairs, warehouse procedures, procurement processes, and safety practices.
  • Assist the Regional Warehouse and Equipment Supervisors with workload planning, operational priorities, and special projects.
  • Lead daily warehouse activities in the absence of the Regional Warehouse and Equipment Supervisors.
  • Foster collaboration between warehouse personnel, Field Operations, Safety, Fleet, and the OSC.
  • Support employee development through coaching, training, and knowledge sharing.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement.

Warehouse Operations

  • Support daily warehouse operations to ensure efficient and effective execution of all warehouse functions.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and productive warehouse environment.
  • Conduct general facility maintenance and coordinate repairs as necessary.
  • Ensure all warehouse materials, equipment, and supplies are properly stored and accounted for at the end of each shift.
  • Participate in warehouse, fleet, safety, and operational meetings as required.
  • Perform special projects and additional duties as assigned.

Inventory Management

  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels of traffic control devices, PPE, fleet maintenance materials, tools, and warehouse supplies.
  • Conduct inventory counts, cycle counts, and audits on required intervals.
  • Review shipping and receiving documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Organize, stage, and prepare equipment and materials for work orders and operational deployment.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and documentation.
  • Assist with inventory process improvements and standardization initiatives.

Fleet and Equipment Management

  • Perform and coordinate repairs, maintenance, and re-servicing of damaged equipment.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on vehicles, trailers, towable units, traffic control devices, and related equipment.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and operational issues and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
  • Process fleet vehicle assignments, changeovers, and associated documentation.
  • Ensure fleet assets and equipment meet company readiness and safety standards.
  • Assist with driver, vehicle, and equipment safety programs.

Procurement and Vendor Management

  • Create, manage, and follow up on purchase orders.
  • Coordinate procurement activities to support operational requirements.
  • Maintain productive relationships with local vendors and service providers.
  • Monitor vendor responsiveness, service quality, and operational performance.
  • Ensure purchasing activities comply with company policies and spending guidelines.

Documentation and Compliance

  • Complete and maintain all documentation associated with inventory, maintenance, repairs, supplies, and equipment.
  • Maintain organized electronic and physical records.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, work orders, purchasing requirements, and repair authorization processes.
  • Escalate operational issues, equipment concerns, or compliance risks to the Regional Warehouse and Equipment Supervisors as appropriate

Required Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license meeting company motor vehicle standards.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of warehouse, logistics, fleet, equipment, or related operational experience.
  • Experience utilizing Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous experience training or mentoring employees.
  • Experience in construction, utility, traffic control, transportation, or field service industries.
  • Knowledge of inventory management systems and fleet management practices.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequently move, transport, and position materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Occasionally move materials exceeding 50 pounds with assistance.
  • Operate vehicles, trailers, warehouse equipment, machinery, and power tools.
  • Experience with vehicle and trailer electrical systems and troubleshooting
  • Frequently bend, kneel, stoop, climb, reach, and perform repetitive hand motions.
  • Work in warehouse, outdoor, and field environments.

Environmental Conditions

  • Exposure to varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, precipitation, and wind.
  • Exposure to noisy environments, moving equipment, and mechanical hazards.
  • Work in confined or enclosed spaces on occasion.

Travel Requirements

  • Up to 25% travel is required.

Additional Requirements

  • Valid driver's license.
  • Daily access to reliable transportation.
  • Ability to pass and maintain any required company certifications and training.
