To support this momentum, JHS seeks an innovative, strategic, and mission-driven healthcare executive to serve as the next Senior Vice President & Chief Executive Officer (SVP & CEO) of Jackson South Medical Center. Jackson South is a 262-bed, full-service acute care hospital offering Level II trauma services, 24/7 emergency care, advanced surgical capabilities, and a broad range of specialties including cardiology, gastroenterology, neurology and neurosurgery, oncology, orthopedics, urology, vascular surgery, and more. As a vital extension of JHS''s academic and tertiary strengths, Jackson South delivers high-quality, patient-centered care to the South Miami-Dade region.

Leadership Scope

The SVP & CEO is the accountable executive leader for all hospital operations, reporting to the SVP & CEO of the Regional Hospital Network & Physician Services. This leader sets the strategic direction for Jackson South, ensuring operational excellence, clinical distinction, and a people-first culture.

Key responsibilities include:

• Driving performance in quality, safety, patient experience, and operational efficiency
• Advancing high-reliability practices and continuous improvement
• Strengthening workforce engagement, empowerment, and well-being
• Deepening integration across Jackson Health System and expanding access to care
• Enhancing key service lines and academic partnerships to meet evolving community needs

Qualification

The ideal candidate is a mission-driven, forward-thinking healthcare executive with:

• A master''s degree
• 10+ years of senior leadership experience in complex, safety-net, or academic health systems
• A track record of leading high-acuity hospitals or academic medical centers
• Strong strategic, operational, and financial acumen
• Demonstrated ability to build high-performing teams and a culture of accountability, resilience, and excellence
• Commitment to serving diverse and underserved communities

Working Conditions

Physical Requirements - Job function is sedentary in nature and requires sitting for extended periods of time. Function may require frequent standing or walking. Must be able to lift or carry objects weighing up to 20 pounds. Jobs in this group are required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as: extended use of computers, preparing and analyzing data and analytics, and other components of a typical office environment.
