ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:

UX/UI Design - 45%

• Design end-to-end user experiences for web and mobile applications, from concept through implementation • Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups that effectively communicate design solutions • Collaborate with product managers and engineers to define requirements and ensure feasibility • Iterate designs based on user feedback, analytics, and business goals

User Research & Insights - 25%

• Participate in the planning and completion of user research using various methodologies including user interviews, usability testing, surveys, and analytics analysis • Synthesize research findings into actionable insights and recommendations • Collaborate on the creation of user personas, journey maps, and other research artifacts to inform design decisions • Champion a user-centered design approach across the organization

Validation & Confirmation - 20%

• Lead the creation and documentation of a comprehensive design system including UI components, patterns, and guidelines • Establish design standards, accessibility guidelines, and best practices • Work with engineering to ensure design system adoption and maintain component libraries • Evolve the design system based on product needs and emerging patterns

Leadership & Collaboration - 10%

• Present design work and research findings to stakeholders at all levels • Mentor junior designers and foster a culture of design excellence • Advocate for user needs and design quality throughout the product development process

SECONDARY FUNCTIONS (IF APPLICABLE)

• May serve as a subject matter expert

SUPERVISORY/BUDGETARY/EXTERNAL COMMUNICATION RESPONSIBILITY

• May communicate with external vendors and service providers

QUALIFICATIONS - EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS

• Bachelors Degree in related field required • 5+ years of experience in UX design, with a strong portfolio demonstrating user-centered design solutions • Proven experience participating in user research and translating insights into design • Expertise in design tools (Figma preferred) • Experience building or contributing to design systems

PHYSICAL, MENTAL, WORKING CONDITION, AND TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

• Typical office environment - sedentary with typing, writing, reading requirements. May be able to sit or stand. • Speaking, reading, writing, ability to use a telephone and computer • Ability to exert up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally • Ability to interpret various instructions • Ability to deal with a variety of variables under only limited standardization • No travel required
