The SeniorTraffic Project Engineer is responsible for assisting in leading, managing, and executing traffic engineering projects across both public and private sectors. This role combines technical expertise in traffic analysis and design with strong project management and leadership skills. The position involves overseeing traffic impact studies, design development, and operational analyses while mentoring team members, supporting business development, and ensuring high-quality deliverables for CPH clients.
About The Job:
Traffic Engineering & Technical Oversight
Lead preparation and review of Traffic Impact Analyses, Traffic Operations and Safety Studies, and Capacity and Safety Analyses.
Conduct and oversee signal design, signal warrant analyses, timing/retiming studies, roundabout analyses, and turn lane queue evaluations.
Perform and interpret traffic modeling, forecasting, and travel demand analyses using Synchro, HCS, SIDRA, and FSUTMS (or equivalent tools).
Ensure all designs and analyses comply with applicable NCDOT, MUTCD, and local standards.
Coordinate with surveyors, CAD designers, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure integration of traffic design into broader civil projects.
Supervise and review the production of technical reports, plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
