We are seeking a Senior Test Engineer to help us create the future of lunar surface mobility in a fast-paced startup environment. As a Test Engineer you will play a crucial role in the testing and evaluation of vehicle systems at Lunar Outpost and specialized test facilities. The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to test systems that optimize performance in spaceflight environments.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop comprehensive test plans, procedures, and protocols for aerospace systems (hardware, software, or integrated systems) Design and set up test fixtures, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems

Execute functional, environmental, structural, and performance tests

Analyze test data and generate clear, actionable reports

Identify root causes of failures and support troubleshooting and corrective actions

Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to improve product performance

Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., FAA, NASA, MIL-STD, DO-160, DO-178, DO-254)

Support qualification, certification, and verification activities

Maintain accurate documentation for testing processes and results

Assist with continuous improvement of test methods, tools, and lab capabilities

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or related field

4+ years of experience in test engineering or systems engineering (aerospace or highly regulated industry preferred)

Experience with test instrumentation, sensors, and data acquisition systems

Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals (mechanics, electronics, or systems)

Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Python, LabVIEW, Excel)

Experience with test documentation and reporting Familiarity with root cause analysis techniques

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

Advanced degree in a related discipline

NASA or spaceflight program experience

Experience with environmental testing (thermal, vibration, shock, EMI/EMC)

Familiarity with aerospace standards such as AS9100, DO-160, MIL-STD

Hands-on experience with automation and scripting for test systems

Knowledge of hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) or system integration testing

Experience supporting certification programs (FAA/EASA)
