Join our Austin lab team to operate and maintain sophisticated test fixtures for a world-renowned technology company. As a Senior Test Automation Operation Engineer, youll deploy hardware test systems, execute daily testing protocols, and troubleshoot complex electrical and mechanical components while working with cutting-edge consumer electronics used by billions globally.

Responsibilities

  • Deploy and configure hardware test fixtures following automation engineering specifications including mechanical setup

  • Execute daily test protocols while monitoring system performance and ensuring test accuracy

  • Debug and troubleshoot failures in electrical and mechanical components using systematic problem-solving approaches

  • Perform device deployment, restoration, and configuration management for test equipment

  • Maintain lab operations including timely resolution of open actions and general facility upkeep

  • Collaborate with cross-location engineering teams to run experiments and validate test results

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent

  • Proficiency in Python programming with strong debugging and troubleshooting capabilities

  • Experience with hardware debugging and failure analysis of electrical and mechanical systems

  • Hands-on experience deploying automated test fixtures including mechanical assembly and setup

  • Familiarity with infrastructure management systems like Ansible or Puppet for configuration control

  • Experience with shell scripting, networking protocols, and managing macOS systems

  • Self-sufficient problem-solving abilities with excellent analytical and debugging skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with distributed teams
