Senior Tax Manager

Our client, a well-established public accounting firm, is seeking a Senior Manager of Tax to lead tax engagements and support a diverse portfolio of clients. 

Location:
Sacramento, CA. This position follows a hybrid work schedule, 3 days/week in the office.

Job Description: 
This role will focus on delivering high-quality tax compliance and advisory services while building strong client relationships and mentoring team members. The ideal candidate is a technically strong tax professional with a client-focused mindset and the ability to operate effectively in a collaborative environment. 

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage tax engagements across a variety of client types, including complex individual and entity structures
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships by delivering proactive tax planning and advisory services
  • Review complex tax returns and filings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations
  • Provide technical guidance on tax matters and support the resolution of complex issues
  • Mentor and develop tax staff, providing coaching and professional growth opportunities
  • Stay current on changes in tax legislation and communicate implications to clients and internal teams
  • Partner with leadership to enhance client service delivery and identify opportunities for additional advisory support
  • Ensure high standards of quality, timeliness, and client satisfaction across engagements

Requirements:
  • CPA designation required
  • 7+ years of progressive tax experience
  • Strong technical knowledge of tax laws and regulations
  • Experience managing client relationships and delivering advisory services
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience working with complex tax structures and planning strategies preferred

  • The individual’s skill sets, experience, and training;
  • Licensure and certifications; 
  • Office location and other geographic considerations;
