Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Senior Tax Associate to join our team. This role is a critical addition to our tax department, responsible for managing compliance, reporting, and strategic planning across a diverse portfolio of entities. We are looking for a professional with the technical foundation to ensure flawless execution of recurring obligations and the high-level analytical skills to support complex transactions.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Tax Planning & Transaction Support

  • Lead tax research and analysis on complex issues, including partnership taxation, investment structures, and the implications of specific transactions.
  • Support tax due diligence and the development of tax-efficient structuring for mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.
  • Develop and maintain sophisticated tax models and projections to evaluate potential transactions.
  • Monitor new tax legislation and proactively analyze its potential impact on the firm and its investment portfolio.
  • Collaborate directly with internal stakeholders and external advisors to resolve transaction-related tax hurdles.

Advanced Tax Compliance & Oversight

  • Oversee the internal review and coordination of complex federal and state tax returns (e.g., Forms 1065, 1120) prepared by external CPA firms to ensure accuracy.
  • Manage a comprehensive global tax and regulatory calendar, ensuring the timely filing of all returns, entity registrations, and permit renewals.
  • Lead the preparation and submission of operational tax filings, including sales and use tax and payroll tax compliance, across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Supervise property tax administration, including the tracking, filing, and payment of real estate and personal property assessments.

Process Leadership & Financial Stewardship

  • Drive process improvements by leveraging technology and automation to enhance the efficiency of tax accounting and reporting.
  • Facilitate internal and external audits by managing documentation requests and performing complex ad-hoc financial analysis.
  • Ensure all compliance-related expenditures are accurately recorded in QuickBooks and maintain a rigorous digital filing system for all official tax records.
  • Support the broader finance team during month-end close processes and serve as a technical resource for the department.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience: 4–6+ years of experience in tax compliance and consulting, preferably within a public accounting firm or a complex corporate/private equity environment.
  • Certification: CPA designation (or significant progress toward completion) is preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Exceptional proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., preferably with pivot tables, VLOOKUPs), QuickBooks, Sage, and professional tax research tools.
  • Leadership Attributes: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple high-priority projects concurrently, with a high degree of organizational discipline and professional flexibility.

Benefits Offered (Full-time Employees)

  • Health Coverage: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision plans. Also offers a Health Saving Account (HSA) with employer contribution and Health Payment Account (HPA).
  • Retirement: Safe Harbor 401(k) plan with a dedicated wealth advisor.
  • Wellness/Ancillary: Includes supplemental benefits including Accident, Critical Illness, Short-Term Disability and employer-paid Life Insurance. Gym allowance and other health initiative programming.
