Job Details

Senior Tax Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Tax Accountant with at least five years of relevant experience to join a dynamic professional services team. This role will support a diverse client base with a strong emphasis on oil and gas industry clients, contributing to both tax compliance and tax planning initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Participate in select phases of tax compliance engagements, including document management, data validation, and workflow coordination
Facilitate client interactions by gathering necessary financial information, responding to inquiries, and maintaining strong professional relationships
Prepare and review federal and state tax returns, with a focus on oil and gas clients, including partnerships, corporations, and individuals
Assist with tax planning strategies to optimize client outcomes and ensure compliance with applicable regulations
Analyze financial data and identify potential tax issues or opportunities for improvement
Stay current on changes in tax laws and industry-specific regulations, particularly within the oil and gas sector
Collaborate with internal team members to ensure timely and accurate completion of engagements

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CPA-eligible preferred)
Minimum of five years of public accounting or relevant tax experience
Experience preparing tax returns for oil and gas clients strongly preferred
Solid understanding of federal and state tax regulations
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
