We’re looking for a Senior Systems / Cloud Engineer to support and optimize a hybrid infrastructure environment (on-prem + cloud). This is a hands-on role focused on performance, reliability, and user experience across enterprise systems. This is a 4-6 month contract role and hybrid in Sacramento office 3 days/week. Core duties and responsibilities include:
• Manage and support virtualization platforms (VMware vSphere / Hyper-V)
• Administer Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops (VDI) environments
• Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure and VDI issues
• Support high availability and disaster recovery solutions
• Work across hybrid cloud environments (AWS, Azure, OCI)
• Partner with network, security, and application teams
• Contribute to automation and infrastructure-as-code initiatives
Required skills and qualifications:
• 5–10+ years in systems engineering / infrastructure roles
• Strong VMware (ESXi, vCenter, HA, DRS) and/or Hyper-V experience
• Hands-on Citrix VDI expertise
• Solid knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, Group Policy
• Experience with storage (SAN/NAS) and networking fundamentals
• Proven troubleshooting skills in enterprise environments
Nice to Have:
• Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, OCI) & hybrid environments
• Scripting (PowerShell, Python, Bash) & Terraform/Ansible
• Backup/DR tools (Veeam, Rubrik)
• VMware NSX, NetApp, Intune, or SD-WAN/SASE exposure
Compensation:
The contract pay rate for this position is from $65-70/hour.
