The Senior Support Technician, Security installs, configures, and maintains TaylorMade’s physical security technology — video management systems (VMS), CCTV camera networks, access control hardware, and the servers that run them. The role blends fieldwork (running cable, mounting cameras, racking equipment) with system administration (patching servers, managing storage, configuring software). This person keeps our people, facilities, and product secure, and keeps the systems that watch over them running around the clock.
Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities:
Video Management System (VMS) Administration
Set up, monitor, and maintain the enterprise VMS platform (e.g., Genetec, Milestone, or Avigilon)
Manage camera licensing, user permissions, and recording/retention schedules
Apply firmware and software updates; troubleshoot performance and connectivity issues
Monitor storage utilization and archive policies across all sites
Install and maintain video walls, alarm integrations, and video analytics (motion detection, line-crossing, license plate recognition)
CCTV Systems
In partnership with supervisor, design camera layouts for new installations and renovations, balancing coverage, lighting, and privacy requirements
Install, align, and calibrate IP and analog cameras
Diagnose and repair image-quality issues, cable faults, and camera malfunctions
Maintain an accurate camera inventory and site coverage maps
Hardware Installation
Install and terminate structured cabling (Cat5e/6, fiber where required) for cameras, access control devices, and network equipment
Server & Network Maintenance
Maintain the physical and virtual servers hosting VMS, access control, and related security applications
Perform OS patching, backups, and disaster-recovery testing for security infrastructure
Monitor server health (storage, CPU, RAID status) and replace failing hardware
Configure and maintain network settings relevant to security systems (VLANs, PoE budgets, firewall rules) in coordination with IT
Access Control
Program and maintain access control panels, credentials, and door schedules
Troubleshoot reader, lock, and panel malfunctions
Support badge issuance and deactivation processes
Documentation & Compliance
Maintain as-built drawings, system diagrams, and device inventories
Log maintenance activity, incidents, and system changes
Ensure systems comply with company policy and applicable regulatory or insurance requirements
Vendor & Stakeholder Coordination
Maintain positive relationships with integrators, manufacturers, and service vendors
Scope and quote system expansions; support capital project planning
Support Security Operations and site staff with day-to-day system needs
Mount and configure cameras, NVRs/DVRs, PoE switches, access control panels, and door hardware (readers, strikes, maglocks)
Rack and cable-manage servers and network equipment in data closets and server rooms
Coordinate with electricians, IT, and general contractors on new construction and retrofit projects
Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
Familiarity with corporate policies and practices related to physical security, investigations, loss prevention, guard force operations and management.
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional partners (i.e., IT, facilities, human resources, legal) to implement policy and procedures to protect corporate facilities.
Ability to prioritize/execute tasks and provide deliverables in a timely and efficient manner.
Understanding of electronic access control, alarm systems and lock hardware preferred.
Experience with visitor management and guard tour applications preferred.
Experience with Software House C-CURE 9000 (or comparable enterprise access control platforms such as Genetec Security Center Synergis, LenelS2 OnGuard, or Brivo) including system configuration, mobile credential integration, and troubleshooting.
Knowledge of or experience with enterprise Video Management Systems (e.g., Genetec Security Center Omnicast, Milestone XProtect, or Avigilon Unity/Alta) and AI-driven video analytics preferred.
Experience with Resolver, Ontic, or comparable cloud-based incident management and GRC platforms.
Knowledge of data networking configurations, network segmentation/VLANs, cybersecurity best practices, and zero-trust principles for OT/IoT devices preferred.
Knowledge of varying technologies including but not limited to web technologies, REST APIs, SQL databases, Windows/Linux server administration, virtualization, and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS).
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications (Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive) and familiarity with collaboration/automation tools (e.g., Power Automate, Copilot).
Availability for 24/7 emergency and crisis notification and response.
Ability to effectively interact with all levels of business management, including executive leadership.
Demonstrated ability to hold confidential materials and information.
Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written.
Education, Work Experience, and Professional Certifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree in electronics, IT, or a related field preferred
3+ years of hands-on experience installing and maintaining CCTV/VMS systems
Working knowledge of at least one enterprise VMS platform
Experience with structured cabling and low-voltage installation
Solid understanding of IP networking fundamentals (switches, VLANs, PoE, basic troubleshooting)
Experience maintaining Windows Server
Work Environment / Physical Requirements:
Office/warehouse and outside environment
Heavy computer use
Ability to work extended hours as needed including availability to respond and/or be notified 24/7 for emergency or crisis situations.
Light physical effort equal to frequent lifting or moving of lightweight materials.
Regularly required to sit or stand, bend and reach
TaylorMade is a performance driven organization and our total rewards approach to compensation is designed to support this. We consider many factors in determining base compensation, including position scope, job related knowledge, education, skills, experience, and work location. The expected hourly base pay range for this position is $30.00 - $33.00. Additional benefits, such as health & wellness, performance bonuses, product discounts, holidays, paid time off, etc. may also be offered in accordance with our plans.
