Senior Superintendent - Ground-up Big Box Store Construction

Targeted HR Consulting is partnering with a highly respected General Contractor to identify experienced Superintendents for ground-up Big Box retail construction projects across Florida.

This role is ideal for field leaders experienced in large-scale retail builds—especially those with Walmart or similar Big Box project experience.

Responsibilities

Field Leadership & Execution

• Lead all on-site construction activities for ground-up Big Box retail projects
• Manage subcontractors, trades, and daily site operations to ensure schedule adherence
• Maintain high standards for safety, quality, and job site organization

Project Coordination

• Develop, manage, and track construction schedules and milestones
• Coordinate inspections, material deliveries, and site logistics
• Lead and document subcontractor and progress meetings

Safety & Compliance

• Enforce OSHA standards, SWPPP requirements, and company safety protocols
• Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant job site at all times

Collaboration & Reporting

• Partner with Project Managers on budgets, cost controls, and contract execution
• Provide regular updates on project status, risks, and progress

Qualifications

Required:

• 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent in commercial construction
• Proven experience with ground-up Big Box retail or grocery projects
• Strong knowledge of scheduling, subcontractor coordination, and quality control
• Ability to travel and manage out-of-town projects
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship

Preferred:

• Walmart project experience strongly preferred
• OSHA 30 Certification (or willingness to obtain)
• SWPPP Certification
• Experience with tools such as WRIKE, FieldWire, or similar construction management platforms
