Senior Substation Physical Designer - GridJoin a growing team with long-term project stability. Work on impactful grid infrastructure projects.Our client is a nationally recognized engineering and infrastructure firm specializing in electric utility transmission, distribution, and substation projects. They support major utilities and energy providers with grid expansion, modernization, renewable energy interconnections, and critical power infrastructure programs, delivering innovative solutions that enhance system reliability and performance.Job DescriptionLead physical design efforts for transmission and distribution substations ranging from 12kV to 500kV+.Develop general arrangement drawings, equipment layouts, grounding plans, conduit and cable trench layouts, and control building layouts.Coordinate with civil, structural, protection & controls, transmission line, and construction teams.Support equipment integration including transformers, breakers, disconnect switches, CTs, PTs, capacitor banks, and associated substation equipment.Prepare construction drawing packages, material takeoffs, and bill of materials.Ensure compliance with utility standards, NESC, IEEE, NEC, and client requirements.Participate in design reviews, constructability assessments, and project coordination meetings.Provide technical guidance to junior designers and support construction through RFI responses and design clarifications.MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
