This role entails managing and delivering comprehensive structural engineering design services within our dynamic design division. The position demands an in-depth expertise in steel and concrete design, including but not limited to equipment bases, structural platforms, piping frameworks, and utility systems. You will also be responsible for devising precise man-hour projections and supplies estimates alongside our preconstruction team for prominent projects.

Key duties involve spearheading the design and structural evaluation of a broad range of initiatives such as commercial, residential, industrial, and infrastructure projects. The position requires oversight of structural components to assure timely, budget-conscious delivery while adhering to stringent safety and quality standards. Compliance with both domestic and international building regulations, safety codes, and legal stipulations is essential.

Collaboration with architects, civil engineers, and contractors is vital to ensure the cohesive and successful completion of projects. You will offer technical mentorship to junior engineers, fostering their growth through insightful guidance and promoting a collaborative work environment. Complex structural challenges must be identified and addressed with inventive and efficient solutions.

Other responsibilities include drafting detailed technical documents, design assessments, and specifications for stakeholders, conducting thorough structural audits and inspections to uphold engineering precision, and consistently staying informed about cutting-edge engineering advancements and integrating them into practice where appropriate.

Successful candidates will demonstrate robust problem-solving abilities, possess prioritization skills, and exhibit strong customer orientation. Other capabilities involve conflict resolution, innovation, flexibility, and impeccable professional communication skills. A readiness to guide and mentor junior staff, along with an openness to feedback, is also required.

Work primarily takes place in an office environment with occasional site visits necessitating travel for project commissioning and maintenance activities.

Candidates should hold at least a bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering, with a Master's degree being advantageous. A minimum of 10 years in the structural engineering domain focused on design and analysis is needed. Proficiency in engineering software tools, experience in generating construction documentation, and a South Carolina Professional Engineer license (with the option for reciprocation in other states) are preferred.
