Together, our 10 offices have created an energized engineering powerhouse offering enhanced capabilities to our ever‑growing client base.What You Will DoWe have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Structural Engineer to join our growing team. This role is primarily responsible for leading a team to perform the design and analysis of structural elements and systems for a variety of project types, in different industries such as manufacturing, distribution, data centers, commercial, historical, adaptive reuse, and renovations. The Senior Engineer serves as the technical specialist and also mentors and trains junior and mid‑level team members. The growth path for this role could consist of a Specialist or a Leadership route. This position is part of our Atlanta team, headquartered in Dunwoody, GA.ResponsibilitiesInteract with clients attending meetings, reviewing structural documentation, and supervising/mentoring junior staff.Oversee design calculations, prepare construction documents, review shop drawings and submittals, conduct site reviews, and respond to RFIs.Coordinate information across all disciplines to ensure deliverables meet client expectations and Bennett & Pless quality levels.Perform QA/QC of work performed by others.Mentor and provide oversight to engineering team; responsible for the learning, professional development, and growth of the assigned team.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering required, Master's degree preferred.Active Professional Engineer license.15+ years' experience in structural engineering.Experience with industry standard software, including ETABS, SAFE, SAP, Microsoft products, Bentley products, RISA, EnerCalc, Adapt, Tekla, etc.Project management experience/ability required.Structural design experience with steel, concrete, and masonry in low to mid‑rise structures.Working knowledge of Revit preferred.Client management experience preferred.Skills And CompetenciesAbility to work in a fast‑paced team environment, manage multiple projects, tasks, and deadlines, and complete them.Self‑starter and always willing to listen, learn, and improve.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Demonstrated team leadership and ability to train and mentor younger engineers.What We OfferAt Bennett & Pless, our vision is to be a place where employees thrive.
