In this role, you will own the supply chain roadmap across a large Pets category and a portfolio of vendor partners, shaping how we work together to maximize product availability, reduce cost and waste, and deliver a delightful experience for pet parents. You will serve as the connective tissue between Vendor Management, Customer Success, and operations and supply chain technology teams. You will translate business goals into measurable supply chain outcomes. Using data and AI, you will identify root causes, size opportunities, and drive improvements across your portfolio. Above all, you lead with a customer-centric mindset and a bias for building solutions that scale. Key job responsibilities - Own and improve supply chain performance across your vendor portfolio, translating KPI trends (out-of-stock, lead time, confirmation rates) into clear actions that drive measurable customer experience improvements and P&L outcomes. - Identify and deliver end-to-end improvement opportunities across large cohorts of vendors, applying AI where it can unlock sharper insights and better decisions. - Strategically analyze and optimize operational excellence inputs, such as EDI adoption, PO confirmations, receive processes, and inventory placement, to improve efficiency and reduce cost. - Build scalable systems, processes, and automation that reduce manual work, improve decision quality, and enable the business to grow efficiently. - Partner with Vendor Managers and selling partners to improve cost structure, profitability, and supply chain efficiency through data-backed recommendations and collaboration. - Deliver supply chain insights and narratives that shape business reviews and strategic decisions with senior leaders, including leading doc-writing for WBRs and annual strategic planning exercises. - Drive cross-functional initiatives across Vendor Management, Customer Success, and Operations - Become the subject matter expert in key supply chain programs that impact not just Pets, but all US Consumables categories. Basic Qualifications - 6+ years of professional or military experience - Bachelor's degree in management, business administration, economics, engineering, marketing - Knowledge of statistics or other analytical techniques - Knowledge of P&L - Experience working retail supply chain, end-to-end supply chain strategy, ecommerce, or strategy consulting Preferred Qualifications - MBA, or Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, operations, engineering, analytics or related field - Experience in a fast-paced, high-tech company, or experience prioritizing and handling multiple assignments at any given time while maintaining commitment to deadlines - Experience prioritizing and managing multiple responsibilities - Experience with analytical tools and ability to dive deep into metrics and reporting - Experience communicating complex business concepts in verbal and written form - Experience with end-to-end ownership of major project deliverables Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. About the Company

A

Amazon

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
