Senior Staff Product Applications Engineer for Veeco Instruments Inc. in Plainview, NY (Fully Remote), to maintain electrical tool and device performance at existing customer sites with zero process-related yield issues. Address and align on change requests from customers and leverage support from other teams/groups to support customers. Attend advanced applications seminars and maintain specialized knowledge of Laser Spike Annealing (LSA) upgrades and new features. Update LSA standard operating procedures to incorporate new best-known practices. Engage closely with customers to develop applications and process performance on the LSA system. Interface with consultants, marketing, sales, service, manufacturing, and supply chain, to discover new opportunities to add value to the core technology through new product development and existing product enhancements. Provide front-line telephone and on-site diagnostic and technical support for various LSA systems in the field. Organize, execute, and report the progress of sample investigations on customer samples and present technical aspects of products to customers and sales channels.Requires Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Material Science, Chemistry, Physics, or related field (will accept foreign equivalent equivalent) plus eight (8) years of experience as an Engineer or related occupation with experience in process optimization and semiconductor technologies. Specific skills/other requirements Must also possess the following experience (quantitative experience requirements not applicable to this section): Semiconductor Process Integration, including logic process flow, particularly in dopant activation and material modification; Metrology and Characterization, including metrology techniques such as SIMS, TEM, XRD, ellipsometry and sheet resistance measurements; Customer Engagement and Support, including on-site tool installation, process matching, ramp-up, and customer training; and problem solving skills for addressing customer specific process or yield issues and working closely with product marketing, field service and sales to align customers requirement.
