Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of work experience in a technical role (e.g., software engineering, solutions consultant, etc.) or equivalent technical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in organizational and technological transformation.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working in a Developer Relations or Developer Advocacy role.
  • Experience leading change in complex, enterprise environments.
  • Understanding of software development life-cycles and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across various teams and levels.

Part community manager and part developer advocate, Developer Relations Engineers collaborate with developers at conferences and online, and advocate for developers interests internally at Google. Not afraid to write sample code and client libraries as well as participate in developer forums and support queues to troubleshoot and debug coding problems developers encounter. Internally, you work with product engineering teams to improve our products by conveying feedback from developers, reviewing API designs and testing new features. Chrome, Android, App Engine, HTML5 as well as our core Google Applications and Ads APIs are just some of the platforms you promote and support.With your technical expertise, you drive strategy around fostering a community of developers who work with Google technologies. An ardent advocate for these developers, you represent their voice internally to our Product Managers and serve as their Google support in application development and technology implementation. In this role, you will empower developers with AI-ready knowledge, trusted content, and scaled, targeted enablement programs to accelerate Google's internal velocity. You will drive efforts to radically increase internal velocity at Google by engaging with partner teams across the organization. You will lead a crucial part of AI Enablement efforts by helping identify emerging trends in Google’s Software Development Life-Cycle (SDLC), working to reduce friction in internal stacks, and help internal teams make investments and transform, based on metrics and insights.The Core team builds the technical foundation behind Google’s flagship products. We are owners and advocates for the underlying design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure at Google. These are the essential building blocks for excellent, safe, and coherent experiences for our users and drive the pace of innovation for every developer. We look across Google’s products to build central solutions, break down technical barriers and strengthen existing systems. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with AI and Product Area leads to develop targeted, fast moving, enablement strategies, while supporting longer-term efforts.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across all roles within Google, serving as primary point of contact to influence product roadmaps through developer feedback, insights, and product area improvement initiatives based on data and industry best practices.
  • Represent the voice and needs of Google's internal developers by overseeing the collection, synthesis, and communication of developer feedback to product teams, and engaging developers across Google to help them understand velocity drivers and radically increase their team velocity.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to partners teams, drawing upon your understanding of software development practices and the internal tooling landscape.
  • Drive scaled efforts to prioritize and deliver friction logs and feedback from product teams.
