Must-HavesEIT (needed to sign off on reports).Experience working in a materials lab.Knowledge or somewhat familiar with DSA (Division of the State Architect).Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced and talented Senior Staff Civil Engineer to join our Southern California team for our Irvine office and will reporting to Project Manager. This is an exempt position. In this role, you will be supporting our materials testing and special inspections team that works on a variety of projects in the commercial, residential, industrial, energy generation and distribution, and educational facilities across Southern California.ResponsibilitiesPerform work that involves conventional types of plans, construction of conventional and critical structuresAssignments usually include one or more of the following:Review of project plans and specificationsInterpretation of current building codes and relevant engineering propertiesInterpretation of field and laboratory testing and special inspections for use in preparation of routine reports with supervisor guidanceAnalyses requiring knowledge of principles and techniques commonly employed in the specific area of assignmentsClient and stakeholder communication, interaction, and relationship-buildingCoordinate the work of special inspectors, subcontractors, and others who assist in specific assignmentsInteraction with field inspectors, dispatch, and materials testing lab personnel for quality control of constructionUsing testing and construction standards such as Caltrans, DSA, ICC, ACI, and others for testing and reporting complianceApply standard practices and techniques in specific situations, adjust and correlate data, recognize discrepancies in results, and follow operations through a series of related detailed steps or processesPrepare proposals for testing and inspection services from take-off through cost estimatesReview/approve mix design submittalsReview and summarize laboratory test dataPrepare technical reports and proposalsAttend all required meetingsFollow company policies and procedures and all safety proceduresQualificationsBachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering3-6 years of Civil or Geotechnical experienceKnowledge of Caltrans, DSA, ICC, or ACIEIT DesignationWilling to obtain PE certification within two yearsFamiliarity with interpreting documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manualsStrong reporting, proposals, and correspondence skillsMust possess a valid driver's licenseAbility to lift and/or move up to 50 poundsComfortable working in an environment with moderate noise levels, at timesMust be able to pass a background checkBenefitsFlexible Work EnvironmentPaid Parental LeaveMedicalDentalVisionLife and AD&D InsuranceShort-Term and Long-Term Disability401(k) with Company MatchPaid Time Off + Holidays#J-18808-Ljbffr
